A very comfortable stay
Thank you for a very comfortable stay, a great night's sleep and excellent breakfast, brilliantly tailored to my dietary needs. Having a charging point for my car was an added bonus.

Very pleasant bed and breakfast
Melanie and Nick made us very welcome and were very informative about the local area. The beds were very comfy and breakfast was well cooked with a wide variety of choices. Little touches eg fresh milk for tea and water in the room were appreciated. we had the twin room with the separate bathroom which worked okay. However the shower was a bit tempermental and never very powerful. All in all very good.

A very nice place to stay.
We stayed for 3 nights sept 23, and enjoyed a very nice, comfortable and well appointed room, with very nice quality bedding, and seating area, with dual aspect windows.Breakfast choices were comprehensive, and all served and cooked very nicely, and promptly, without us feeling rushed.Good value for such a nice room, and in a great location for walking and exploring, we will definately return.Only one small negative, was the hotel Dog barking in the garden at 7.30 AM, other wise perfect.

A great stay
Melanie and Nick made us feel very welcome. Every morning we were greeted with a delicious breakfast and smile and nice chat. Their B&B has a nice lounge and garden you can use. It's only a short walk into town and to the Valley of Rocks and coast path, with plenty of beautiful walks. We felt very comfortable and would certainly return.

Very welcoming hosts, excellent breakfasts! Comfortable well equipped rooms everything you need for a pleasant stay. Good location close to some lovely walks, but close to Lynton centre.

A nourishing, peaceful haven
Many thanks to Melanie and Nick for creating a "home from home" retreat space in their beautiful B and B. The room was very comfortable. Fabulous attention to detail. The breakfast was simply outstanding, with that wonderful "home-cooked" feel.

short break in Lynton
We chose Longmead house for a 3 night stay as it had a 5* write-up (and a room free).Melanie and Nick were very good hosts. Would highly recommend the breakfast. It's the best we've had in ages.

Amazing place to stay.
As in previous stays we were not disappointed at all regarding our time with Mel & Nick. It is a lovely place with amenities such as onsite parking, quaint local shops, and spectacular walks and views.Rooms are clean, comfortable and cosy, hosts friendly and attentive.Breakfast is plentiful, filling and tasty. Highly recommend to anyone to book a visit.

Lovely Longmead House
We just had a lovely weekend at Longmead House. Mel and Nick were great hosts, very attentive yet respecting our privacy too. Excellent location, close to all local attractions. Our room was very nice, well equipped and spotless. The breakfast was gorgeous, high quality ingredients and alot of love went into cooking it. We would firmly recommend staying at Longmead House.

Super two night stay, calm, relaxed and spotless with a very good selection of breakfast foods. A lounge with a bar was available and looked most comfortable and cosy.

Wonderful B&B
A really delightful B&B Melanie and Nick were really friendly and helpful, always available if needed. The room was very comfortable and clean, tea and coffee with fresh milk which makes a change. Delicious homemade cake water and biscuits too.Melanie's homemade Jam was amazing I had the mixed berries. Breakfast was so extensive, the fresh fruit was delicious as was our cooked breakfast. We would definitely recommend anyone to stay as we certainly hope to.Only one very slight detail could be the hedge cut back a bit going into the parking area, it's a bit tight. Love our stay thank you Melanie and Nick hope too see you again soon.

Fabulous location and top breakfast!
A return visit to Longmead, which is perfectly positioned between Lynton town and The Valley of the Rocks. Roomy car park and pretty garden, with seating for a sunny evening's drink. There is a "drip tray" supplied in the reception area for muddy boots, so ideal for walkers. Nick and Melanie are excellent hosts and aim to please. Breakfast is more than plentiful, with a delicious choice on offer and served in the airy, bright dining room. There is also an honesty bar in the sitting room, with comfy sofas, for cosy nights in. Fresh milk and water is always on supply. The building itself is very pretty, but of an age where there are obvious updates needed, mainly in the bedrooms. Nick and Melanie have made great improvements since moving to Longmead, through which have been some difficult years, so top marks to them! Keeping on top of the upkeep must be a real headache. A lovely base for visiting this beautiful part of Devon and great value for money, everything considered. I hope to visit again in the future. Just one suggestion; a little light background music in the dining room would be appreciated and help overcome those quiet moments between clattering plates and courses (I heard others mention this also)!

Very enjoyable stay
This was a little relaxing break for us that had been a long time coming and made perfect by our lovely hosts Nick and Mel. The room was lovely, everything was pristine and there was some lovely complimentary items such as biscuits tea, coffee, hot chocolate fresh milk from a little fridge and home made cake left for us in a little tin in our room. The breakfast was really lovely and we were made to feel very welcome. We truly had a wonderful time and would love to revisit sometime so thank you Nick and Mel for making our long awaited break just what we needed

A Lovely Break
Melanie and Nick are welcoming and attentive hosts. My room and the house as a whole was very clean and tidy. Breakfast offers a great choice all of which is well presented and of a good quality. I would highly recommend Longmead House.

Excellent location and venue
Couldn't ask for a better place to stay. Everything was as offered and although the room was tiny it was fine for our purposes. The location spot on - everything within walking distance and the breakfast (and the complementary ginger braed) excellent.

Fabulous stay in a great location
We spent 4 nights at Longmead House. The bed was comfortable and we slept really well. Melanie and Nick are great hosts and provide a delicious, hearty breakfast as well as thoughtful additions, like home-made cake on arrival, fresh milk available daily and water to top up room bottles. Great shower, plenty of decent-sized towels and extra hooks for outdoor coats as well as a wardrobe.Longmead House and Lynton provide an ideal base for exploring the area.We will be back!

Our hosts, Nick and Melanie, were very welcoming and looked after us well in their lovely B&B. Our room was well appointed and very comfortable.Great thought had clearly been given to the needs of their guests.The breakfasts were superb with a great choice of options.We booked for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Truly relaxing and comfortable stay
Melanie and Nick were perfect hosts and they ensured our stay exceeded our expectations. The B&B was spotlessly clean. Our room was well appointed with many amenities and extra comforts. The breakfasts were terrific and we would highly reccomend this establishment for a relaxing and comfortable stay in a beautiful part of Devon.

Overnight stay

Very good as normal
We have now stayed at Longmead House on 4 occasions for good reason.The hospitality is first class, the breakfast is superb with a wide selection.It is a good base for exploring the area and Nick and Melanie can provide useful advice.

A lovely place to stay
Nick and Mel made us very welcome when we arrived. We knew our room was going to be small but were pleasantly surprised when we saw it, perfectly adequate for a short stay. The breakfast was beautiful with very good quality food and homemade bread. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Our stay at Longmead House
We really enjoyed our stay. The room was excellent. Clean, airy and modern.Thank you for giving us a room on the first floor, as stairs are becoming a problem in our seventies!. Breakfast was very good and choice of menu excellent.Only suggestion to add to experience is maybe SKY or similar TV.

Lovely relaxing stay
Longmead house is a lovely place to stay with Nick and Mel being great hosts.Breakfast was great too with food being locally sourced with personal touches.Rooms clean and tidy and decorated nicely. Can park the car and walk to Lynton and the cliff train down to lynmouth.would definitely recommend a stay and can recommend The Oak Room Tapas restaurant for a touch of Mediterranean and The Lyn candle shop both in Lynton and The Maurice Bishop art gallery in Lynmouth.

A lovely experience in a comfortable and cosy B&B. We were able to sort out a late check-in with the very friendly owners, who also helped us with their local knowledge. The B&B is in a great location to explore the area and beautiful surroundings.

First of all, we were able to leave the car behind in the very adequate car park so that we could just walk everywhere- a great convenience.Secondly, room one was very comfortable and we were impressed by little thoughtful touchessuch as the mini torch and the complimentary Madeira cake and tissues.Finally the breakfast was excellent-and Nick and Melanie are first class hosts.Longmead House is highly recommended.

A great little place that caters well for walkers. Very friendly hosts whowent above and beyond to accommodate our needs.The food was excellent, a lot of it homemade by Melanie.If you are walking in the area this is the perfect base.

We enjoyed the hospitality personal guests might receive; nothing was too much trouble, even when we arrived after a series of failed attempts to recharge the car!The fish platter we had on the day of HM’s funeral was exceptional, as was everything that was brought out of Melanie’s kitchen.What a marvel the lady is. Lovely & friendly welcome. Room was clean & tidy (loved the complimentary cake - thank you). Breakfasts were sumptuous - no complaints. Attention to detail was required on minor items (salt in shaker damp - advise to put rice with it so as to remain dry).

We really enjoyed our 4 nights. Mel and Nick are wonderful hosts, very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. There is everything you could wish for on the breakfast menu and our fish platter was delicious. Our room was also very comfortable.

We had a lovely stay here.Our room although small was fine, but that’s what you get in these old houses.The mattress was firm but suited us, but May not suit everyone.Breakfast was lovely, and had to preorder, had this before, and works well and reduces waste!Would definitely return there and Highly recommended

Perfect location for coast path
Clean, quiet and comfortable with excellent breakfast. Electric charge point for car very useful. Packed lunches contained good sandwiches but were perhaps a bit overpriced. Also think the tea/ coffee/ biscuits/ cake in the room could have been replenished daily, and used cups exchanged.

Amazing place to stay.
We stayed for 2 nights in August as we have done in previous years.We really enjoyed our stay with Mel and Nick and they were very welcoming and attentive.The house is lovely, bedrooms clean and fresh and beds very comfortable.Breakfast was yummy and plentiful, cooked beautifully and there was lots of choice.We love staying here and it was really nice to chat to other guests.We fully recommend Longmead House for a stay in a beautiful area of North Devon.

Enjoyable stay in a good location
Thanks for a most enjoyable stay. We appreciated the cake on arrival and the fresh milk for drinks as well as finding a fan in our room when it was so hot! Breakfast was generous and tasty. We would have preferred the wash basin to be in the ensuite rather than the bedroom but other than that the room was well equipped. Many thanks

I am sure you will remember me, the menu I found was a bit of a minefield I think it could be made simpler for your sake as well as your guests. The cold water is connected up incorrectly, hot water on my toothpaste didn't taste to good also the cold water ran in drbble unable to clean the sink .I do hope I've not offended you I enjoyed my stay Thanks David Coventry

First class stay
Just spent a lovely week in beautiful North Devon. Our stay was enhanced by the excellent hospitality afforded by Melanie and Nick. The attention to detail makes such a difference - home-made jams and bread, super-comfortable bed and fresh milk for your tea and coffee! Location from Lyton town centre is perfect, just a 5-10 minute walk and Valley of Rocks is literally down the road. Will definitely stay there again when we re-vist the area.

We have just come back from a 5 night stay in a good room with very comfortable beds and quality linen and towels. Excellent breakfasts always and a fantastic choice freshly cooked to order.Mel and Nick are welcoming hosts and we felt at home immediately. Cheeky break away
We have just had a wonderful couple of days staying at The Longmead House in Lynton.Our hosts were really welcoming and our room was lovely. Bed was super comfy. The breakfast was enough to keep you going for the day. We even bought some of their homemade marmalade back with us😄

A perfect
We were warmly greeted by Nick and Mel as we got out the car and who took the time to talk to us, making us feel very welcome into their home. Nick took careful consideration in explaining everything we needed to know about our stay and the surrounding area.The room was a good size, clean, quiet and very comfortable. I loved the homemade cake you received with the tea and coffe supplies. We slept so well in the comfy bed and in the morning we received a delicious breakfast. Longmead House has a large selection of breakfast food to choose from (more than some larger hotel chains offer).Perfectly situated in Lynton with a 5 mins walk from Lynton high Street and 5 mins walk from the stunning Valley of the Rocks. Our only regret was that we didnt stay longer.For short stays I really feel this one has it all for the superb price. We will be revisiting Longmead house again! I came to stay at Longmead with my Dad and we were both really delighted. The owners are kind, friendly and helpful, the rooms are comfortable and well appointed and the breakfasts delicious, with so much choice! A charming and quiet property which is great value for money. We hope to return one day.

Short stay in lynton
Thanks for a really nice short stay at Longmead House. We were very happy with our stay despite the weather. The location of the property was excellent, making it easy to visit the villages and the valley of the Rocks. We especially enjoyed Melanie’s breakfast. Lots of choice and very tasty. The complimentary cake was also good. The room was very clean and comfortable. The owners were helpful and knowledgeable about the area.

Lovely Stay
We spent three lovely nights here in a room on the second floor, with a cosy bathroom with a greatly appreciated bath. Tasty breakfast, pre booked the night before with plenty of choice, and we loved the home made granola. The hosts were very friendly, and the location is very peaceful, but just a short walk away from the centre of Lynton. Look forward to visiting again!

Warm & Cosy
Despite some damage to Longmead House caused by the last storm and the fact that there was obvious building works going on, Nick & Mel made us more than welcome.The damage was explained to us way before we travelled so there was no surprise.The house was welcoming with a cosy atmosphere, the room was clean and the breakfast was plentyful. A very nice experience all round.

Amazing stay
This was our first time in Lynton and it was a lovelystay. Nick was an amazing host and made us feel at home instantly. The room was really nice and the beds were so comfy! The quality of everything was also amazing, including fresh milk and home made cake on arrival! It was an ideal location right between Lynton and valley of rocks. Couldn’t recommend it more.

A Very Pleasing Stay.
Ideally situated just away from the centre of this delightful little town Longmead House offers good clean accommodation with off road car parking - important as we did not move our car during our two night stay. Our room was spacious with an excellent en-suite and the pre-order breakfast menu was extensive. We enjoyed the evening ploughman platter to save venturing out again.Thank you Nick and Melanie for your excellent hospitality. Ideal location for the area.

Great Family Mini Break
Upon arrival our family of five were warmly welcomed by Nick.Longmead House is ideally situated for walking and exploring the beautiful surrounding area. The house is extremely comfortable, clean and the breakfast legendary! There is also the bonus of private car parking.We were celebratating a special occasion, which Nick and Melanie kindly embraced!We would not hesitate to recommend Longmead House and look forward to a return stay.

Ideally situated away from the commercial area, with ample off road parking. Comfortable rooms with all of the usual facilities, including fresh milk ideally situated for all of the rooms. Good selection of good quality food options for breakfast. Evening meal options were available on request. We enjoyedbour stay at Longmead House, and have no hesitation in recommending this Guest House.

Great location for exploring the area
Great location and plenty of parking. Good quality room and good breakfast menu. Only downside was the room was chilly in the evening when sitting after dinner and also chilly in the morning when the heating didn't always come on.We were surprised not to meet Melanie during our stay.

Absolutely brilliant
First of all I would like to take the owner Nick and Melanie on providing us a very warm welcome to their B and B.On terms of cleanliness it isfive star and spot on guidelines with respect to Covid precautions. All necessary protocol has been put on place from check in to check out and during the stay.Breakfast is excellent as you are given both cold breaky or hot foods to choose from which you have to fill up everyday the night before so no food is wasted as you can fill up the amount in the forms on what you can eat. Its the way forward not to have waste food anymore. Thank goodness for that.Location: PERFECT; Its 5 minutes walk to the beautiful and stunning VALLEY OF THE ROCKS. You can also walk to the funicular(cliff lift} to go to Lynmouth if you do not wish to walk. But everywhere on both direction is walkable.Plus side: They have their own parkingValue for money: Very good and better too if you book directly to them as Nick is very helpful too.TIPS: Book restaurant reservation ahead of time as we found their is only a few restaurant nearby to eat for dinner unless you go to Lynmouth.Recommended restaurant: The Oak room (Tapas) excellent, Annie and Flint both located nearby Longmead House and if you fancy some drinks in lynmouth The Rock house Hotel after a long walk and the cCiff Cafe in Lynton over looking the beautiful coastline

Recommended
Nick and Melanie were very welcoming and Nick explained clearly the protocols they had adopted to manage the COVID situation. Our bedroom was just fine with a very comfortable bed. (However, I would say that the bathroom needs an extractor fan or an easy to open window). The breakfast was great and my requirement for gluten free well catered for. All in all very good.

Nick is so friendly, attentive and informative. The location is perfect being a short walk into town and an equally short walk to the Valley of the Rocks. The room was a little small but me being a big chap didn't help. I will certainly make a note of the room sizes next time we stay and choose better.The breakfast was lovely and varied. Having stayed previously at Longmead, we had good knowledge and expectations from our visit.We were not disappointed! Although the management has changed since we were here last, standards are still high. Accommodation was clean, comfortable and adequate for our stay.The bed was perfect, breakfast generous and staff friendly and efficient.Also the location is fantastic, just off the main area of Lynton one way and Valley of Rocks the other.A great stopover for our main holiday in surrounding area, already booked for next year!

All lovely
A very warm welcome from Melanie and Nick to their lovely B&B. Plenty of sensible COVID precautions in place so everyone felt safe. Breakfasts were delicious, with quality sausages and bacon plus fruit, cereal or Melanie’s home-made granola which is fabulous. She makes fresh bread every morning plus her own jams and marmalade. They also offer platters for evening meals if you don’t want to go out. It was difficult to book a restaurant/pub, even a week before, so do book much further in advance than you would expect unless you are staying out of season. Nicely decorated bedroom with a very comfortable bed and nice quality bed linens. Everywhere was spotless. Quiet location, with easy, walkable routes to the SWCP. All lovely, highly recommended.

The first weekend after total lockdown.Of course there were changes; but my wife and I were both impressed and very satisfied with what had been done to provide a safe and enjoyable stay.Good parking facilities; comfortable room; convenient for the local shops that are.

Much needed break in Devon
Just returned from a break in Devon with my wife and 12 year old daughter, we stayed at Longmead House in Lynton. The accommodation was beautiful, clean and roomy (we had a family room for the 3 of us). Nick and Melanie gave us a warm welcome, we felt at home immediately. The breakfasts that we ordered were superb!!! Longmead House is set on a very quiet back street of Lynton. Thank you Nick and Mel, we'll definitely be staying with you again.

This was our second stay at Longmead House and it was excellent as usual.Melanie and Nick are a lovely and welcoming couple who have really worked hard to make sure that their property is COVID safe. The precautions they have taken made us immediately feel comfortable. Breakfast is excellent and everywhere is spotless. Large ,free car park and lovely accessible garden. Five minutes walk from good selection of shops and restaurants. Lovely walking from the door to Watersmeet, Lynmouth and the Coastal path and Valley of the Rocks. Fabulous,we will be back.

First class stay
Under new ownership since our last stay, Longmead House continues to be just lovely. Melanie and a Nick are friendly and helpful and the standard of the rooms is top notch. Lovely touches to the room including delicious slices of cake which didn’t last past the first 10 minutes!We can thoroughly recommend staying here and exploring the beautiful immediate surroundings and town.

The single bed en suite attic room was fab,cosy, had everything you would need in a compact room - good power shower.Breakfast excellent, pleasant people running the place. In a lovely area nicely tucked away from centre of Lynton -easy walking distance.Will stay there again next time in Lynton!

Excellent short break in north Devon
Excellent hospitality from Nick and Melanie. Substantial breakfast with lots of options. Our room was at the top of the house, stairs were rather steep so a room on the lower level would be advised for those less mobile. The room was on the small side but was clean and comfortable. The current COVID protocols gave a secure feeling to our stay. We had an evening platter on the day of our arrival and another later in the week which were most enjoyable. The accommodation is perfectly placed to explore the valley of the rocks and surrounding attractions. We would certainly recommend this guest house and would use it again if we were to revisit the area.

We had a lovely room with a comfortable sofa to relax on.The breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of food fruit juices and drinks all served by a friendlycheerful host my wife Joan particularly liked the home made granola and at the end of our stay purchased a bag to bring home.Longmead house is situated in an excellent position near to the valley of the rocks and other pleasant walks.We would recommend Longmead House to anyone looking for a comfortable pleasant place to stay and we look forward to staying there again in the future.

A brilliant plce to stay for walkers.
We were a group of 3 ladies and had just completed walking the Coleredge Way. We arrived exhausted ad were given a wonderful welcome and a delicious platter for supper. The rooms were lovely and the breakfast delicious.Very conveniently situated for getting the bus to Barnstable on our journey home.

Relaxing stay
We have stayed at Longmead House several times in the past, and were glad to meet Nick and Melanie. Our room was comfortable, spacious and well equipped. The breakfasts were delicious and comprised locally produced or home made produce. We shared an evening platter on our first evening and that was delicious and well chosen too. Our electric car was provided with an electricity supply with no hassle. We definitely intend to return in the future.

A good base for coast path walking.
Nick and Melanie were very welcoming, despite Covid regulations, and the tasty, freshly cooked breakfast made a good start to a day's walking.

Far exceeded our expectations in these difficult times
We spent a wonderful week at Longmead House. Everything was absolutely perfect, felt very safe, the room was lovely, breakfast superb with plenty of choice. Melanie and Nick were so helpful - it was our first visit to the area and they were so helpful with directions to places etc. Nothing was too much trouble - we will certainly be back!

Wonderful stay
We stayed at Longmead house for the first time for 2 nights and cant thank Melanie and Nick enough for their safe and warm hospitality. We had a very comfortable room with a good range of toiletries and hand sanitizer. The Covid measures were fantastic and we felt totally safe for the duration of our stay. Hand gel throughout the house, milk in your own little flasks, no one entering your room but anything you needed left outside in little bags, pre ordered extensive breakfast at a set time ensuring social distancing and everything waiting for us on the table. This ensuresd the food was hot and freshly cooked. The variety of cooked breakfast was so good and you could have as much or as little as you wanted as you put how much of each item you required. Melanie and nick could not do enough for us and made us feel special and welcome in very uncertain times. There was plenty of parking and they allowed us to leave our car after check out so we could enjoy one more long beautiful walk before heading home. We will definitely be back and cant thank melanie and Nick enough.

Great Location and Covid Safe
A lovely building in a great location between Lynton town and the Valley of the Rocks. Spacious car park. The safety precautions that Nick and Melanie have in place are excellent, but still allow you to feel relaxed and enjoy your stay, during these difficult times. My bed was really comfortable and I slept well, as it was lovely and quiet. Great position for walking, yet with some quirky and interesting shops close by - a visit to the candlemaker and craft centre is a must. Delicious breakfasts, with large portions and an amazing fish platter for dinner! Friendly and helpful hosts. I hope to be able to stay again.

A very good and enjoyable stay with great hosts
We booked five nights at fairly short notice. Having forgone our other holiday plans this year, we were delighted to find Longmead House online and have the opportunity to visit a very beautiful area again that we’d not been to for very many years.When booking we were assured by the very clear arrangements and protocols in place to mitigate against the COVID risks and we can confirm that these all worked very well. Nick and Melanie have thought everything through carefully and could not do more to make things work well and safely. They could also not have done more to make us feel welcome and looked after, having that knack of being available and very helpful, but not intrusive.The room and en suite bathroom were very clean and comfortable with lots of well thought through extras to cover most possible needs. The breakfasts were wonderful with a great choice available, all beautifully prepared, cooked and presented. We certainly didn’t need too much lunch each day when we were out walking!We congratulate Nick and Melanie for all their effort and hard work to make ours and other guests stays so comfortable, enjoyable and as safe as possible in these difficult times.

One night stay, great get away
From the moment I had enquired about the hotel, Nick and Melanie were so helpful, informative and quick to respond that I knew it was a good omen for the stay itself. And it was. The hotel is all set up for dealing with the requirements of COVID, but none of which hindered the stay at all, it just made us feel more at ease. The fresh milk for the teas and coffees in the room was a winner for me. The hotel itself is a very cute large house converted and is perfect for somewhere to rest when you’re out all day walking and exploring the area. Breakfast was great and again well organised for COVID restrictions. Valley of Rocks, the south west coastal path are pretty much on the doorstep so it’s a great place if walking is your thing. They were also kind enough to let us leave the car in their car park after check out so we could spend the day walking before returning home. We will definitely return here!

The B&B was cleanand comfortable , a great breakfast using local produce which set you up for the day.Great awareness to Covid Restrictions in placeand observed by at all times.Nexttimewe book I'll make sure a bigger bedroomon 1st floor instead of being on 2nd floor as stairs are quite steep and not good for older generation with mobility problems.Came away with a pot of Mel's homemade Marmalade to enjoy,well worth it. Friendly and homely
Nick & Melanie were a lovely couple who couldn’t do enough to make your our stay as comfortable as possible. The accommodation had everything you needed and was thoughtfully prepared with COVID in mind. All precautions were taken in our room as well as communal and dining areas, with lots of sanitizer dotted around. Our room was in the eaves, we had a super king bed which was very comfortable. There home is a large Victorian house just on the edge of the Valley of the rocks, a stunning area to walk with a coastal walk to Lynmouth. There was ample parking and at the end of the road was Lynton high street with local amenities and pubs/restaurants. WouldDefinitely recommend.

What a lovely place to stay. Its just outside of any of the busy areas of Lynton, so lovely and quiet. But just a short walk to the restaurants and cliff train down to Lynmouth. comfortable, friendly and great breakfasts. highly recommended. The walking around this area is superb!

Had a lovely stay at Longmead. Good choices for breakfast too. All steps to make our stay comfortable were made (Re social distancing) and very informative to what they had put in place and felt re assured. On arrival we were met in the car park, by Mel and Nick. We immediately felt at home and it only got better. The facilities were very comfortable (especially the bed) and nothing was too much trouble. We soon realised that we had hit the jackpot. The house is well situated and the hosts are very welcoming. The guest lounge is big and stocked with a range of drinks. The breakfast was served in a lovely room with attractive table settings. The food was varied and extremely well prepared and presented. We felt very well looked after.

We received the warmest of welcomes at Longmead and our rooms were clean and comfortable. One of the best breakfasts we have ever had and the home made cake put out in the evening was a lovely touch too. Great location for walking to cafes and restaurants and for walking.

Four nights stay in September 2019
Glenys and I felt very welcome as soon as we arrived for our stay, and despite some disappointing weather on day three, were pleasantly surprised with Lynton and Lynmouth. Our room was very comfortable with excellent facilities, and breakfast was excellent, with good choice and our hosts, Nick and Melanie were very helpful with every aspect of our holiday.

We can not recommend Longmead House highly enough! Absolutely fabulous place to stay to explore beautiful Exmoor. We had a lovely stay at Longmead House! From the arrival with tea & cake was the beginning. The room was comfortable & the breakfast was really good lwith surprising little extras. A few minutes down the road took you to Valley of the Rocks amazing! Walk the other way takes you to the little town with quirky shops & places to eat. Friendly, helpful and efficient hosts, lovely welcome with Mel’s delicious home made cake, lovely room, comfy bed, good shower and wonderful breakfast- homemade granola, bread, jam & marmalade and really quality produce used and cooked to perfection by Mel and served/hosted by Nick. Best value in the area, would heartily recommend and hope to be back soon. The Crown in Lynton, as recommended by Nick & Melanie, do great food at good prices and do a good pint of Stag ale too.

Pleasant stay
This is our third visit, this latest time with the new owners. We love the location, close to the pretty twin towns of Lynton and Lynmouth; and the accommodation is very comfortable. Would prefer an earlier breakfast time as we are early risers - but the breakfast itself is a treat. Melanie’s daily cake in the guest lounge is a nice touch too! Will definitely keep coming to Longmead House!

Very comfortable stay rooms are good bed very comfortable. Breakfast should not be misted it’s top notch. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. Location a slow 5 minute walk to town centre and the same to the valley of the rocks in the other direction. We recommend a stay, we will stay again.

Exemplary hospitality!
Nick and Melanie cannot be faulted as hosts. A welcome cup of tea and slice of Mel's homemade cake in the guest lounge provides them a chance to give you your keys and a helpful induction and suggestions for what to do and see. Breakfast is first-rate - all homemade or local ingredients. Our room was excellent - no shortage of power points or hangers (as is so often the case in quite up-market hotels), with lots of nice little inclusions. You're both doing a great job - thanks!

Stayed for three nights at Longmead House Lynton. Proprietors Nick and Melanie could not have been more professional and helpful. Genuinely nice people where nothing is too much trouble. Excellent location for walks and access to Lynton and Lynmouth. Will be returning.

What a lucky find
Having made a fairly late decision to visit the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway Gala, I wasn't very hopeful of finding good accomodation, but we couldn't have made a better choice than Longmead House.From the warm welcome from Lauren through to the comfortable room, and excellent breakfasts, we had a first class stay.Loved the location, both of Lynton (never been before) and the hotel - I have never been awoken by the call of a tawny owl on the outskirts of a town before.All in all a very special weekend.Thank you.(We won't of course, hold you responsible for the decision by some muppet to close the A39 on the Monday morning which meant a massive detour to get to Minehead, and miss our planned train on the West Somerset Railway before heading home to West Sussex!!!)

Can thoroughly recommend Longmead House in Lynton.A very comfortable stay, I had a single room which while compact had everything I needed and didn't spend a lot of time in it anyway.Lauren is very friendly and welcoming and Henry's breakfasts are probably among the best I've had, there are only a few of which I'd make this comment.A lovely time, great walks around Exmoor and a stroll down the road to the Valley of the Rocks which is such a special place.

A pleasant stay
I stayed one night in the single room, which, though compact, was perfectly adequate, clean and very comfortable. Lauren was very friendly, informative and went out of her way to make sure I had a suitable breakfast. The location, close to the shops and coast path, was very convenient.

Excellent stay
Longmead House is an excellent choice as a base to explore the Lynton and Lynmouth area.It’s just a short walk down to the Valley of the Rocks, for stunning scenery and beautiful sunsets.Our room was lovely and comfortable.Lauren and Henry are perfect hosts, very welcoming and considerate: booking a table for dinner at a local restaurant for us on our first night there, which was very helpful.Breakfasts are a real treat, with home-made bread and marmalade, and an outstanding full-English on the menu.We would highly recommend staying at Longmead House.

Fourth visit to Longmead. Lauren and Henry provided their usual excellent service. Lovely room, pretty garden to sit out in with a glass of wine, and tasty breakfast. Off street parking and walking distance to a variety of restaurants for dinner, so a great location to relax.

Long mead House Lynton
Excellent accommodation. Super breakfast,very friendly hosts.Good easy on site parking. The accommodation is situated in a lovely part of North Devon and is ideal for walkers.There are several very good restaurants close by. Thoroughly recommended, we will definitely return.

Spring Stay
We just wanted to say how much we enjoyed our visit to Lynton. We had such a comfortable stay and everything was absolutely spotless. There was a really good choice for breakfast but Henry's 'Full English' was so delicious we just didn't get around to trying anything else! Lauren and Henry were both lovely, so friendly and welcoming. Thank you again.

Overnight stay to visit the area
We had a very enjoyable and pleasant overnight stay at Longmead House. The couple running the accommodation give a marvellous service, and offer an excellent cooked to order breakfast, with plenty of choices of hot and cold dishes.Our room was very comfortable and quiet, and although not large, had a good choice of hot drinks to make, plus bottles of water and biscuits!It was very pleasant overnight stay for us on this occasion, and we were very impressed with everything which is all done by Lauren and Henry.We would certainly recommend Longmead House for a short or longer stay.

The location is excellent, everything is walking distance. The hosts are very lovely and warm and made sure we were well greeted despite arriving late on the Friday. Room was clean and comfy. A lovely little stay.

Nice B&B, friendly owners
I booked two nights here when I was looking to spend a couple of days in Lynton and Lynmouth. I chose Longmead House due to the availability of a single room with en suite shower room, but the reviews were also consistently good, so that helped me to decide to stay here. I was very glad I did. Longmead House is in a nice location on the edge of Lynton, just a few minutes walk into the town centre. I was warmly greeted by Lauren and Henry. There is a large lounge for guests and my room was very comfortable. The breakfasts in the morning were great, lots of fruit salad and cereals to start followed by a good full English cooked to order by Henry. It was the perfect base for me whilst staying in Lynton, shame I only had two nights there, but if I ever go back to Lynton I shall certainly look at staying at Longmead House again.

As Good As Ever
This was our 5th stay at Longmead House and as ever it did not disappoint. Lauren & Henry are excellent hosts and the quality and location of the accommodation is very high. We will return again.

Lovely break in friendly b&b
We had originally planned for this B&B to be a stop off during a week long hike. We couldn't do the hike in the end, but we are glad we visited the B&B. The owners are helpful, friendly and have created a lovely atmosphere in their home. We will be returning when we finally are able to do our hike.

Warm and friendly
Second visit this year which says it all! Henry and Lauren are warm and welcoming and you feel like friends. Last minute booking so had the only non en suite room, but no problem as our own private shower room across the corridor with bathrobes supplied. Excellent breakfast especially eggs benedict, and home made bread and marmalade. Great location near Valley of the Rocks plus easy walk into Lynton, what is there not to like? We will return!

Lovely stay in a great location
We spent 3 nights at Longmead House and had a lovely welcome from Lauren, which got our stay off to a great start.Henry's breakfasts are delicious, and Lauren makes a point of remembering everyone's name which adds to the feeling of welcome.Longmead House was in a perfect location for us - near the start of some great walks - coast and countryside.At the same time it was within short walking distance of restaurants for an evening meal, yet quietly situated.If you are looking for this type of location, with a warm welcome, delicious breakfasts, and high standards of cleanliness, stay here! We certainly will if we are able to visit Lynton again.

After a 2yr health break we returned to Longmead delighted that very little has changed. New owners but the place has the same comfortable feel and the room we had was immaculate with a very comfy bed. Henry's breakfasts were fabulous! Lauren and Henry were very welcoming and friendly and on hand to help with any advice about the area. Will definitely be returning next year. Thanks for a lovely week.

Great B&B
My husband and I had a 2 night stay at Longmead House, Lauren and Henry were very welcoming and they kindly locked our bikes in their garage. We stayed in room1 which had the king size bed. Lovely room, I especially liked the chair in the bay window, which was lovely and sunny. Room was spotless. Henry's cooked breakfast was superb, I can recommend the scramble eggs with smoked salmon. Lauren was very helpful in recommend restaurants and places to go. We would definitely stay again. Thanks for a most enjoyable weekend break.

Staying at Longmead
We had a delightful stay at Longmead House recently.Our hosts were charming and very helpful suggesting what to see and where to eat. Our room was very comfortable and breakfast was delicious. The best thing was being able to leave our car in the car park and walk everywhere. We would not hesitate to recommend this B&B to others.

We had a very warm welcome from Henry and Lauren who sat down with us over a cup of tea and told us about local walks, pubs and restaurants. They also offered to make bookings for us.Very good breakfasts, with fruit every day. The highlight for us was eggs benedict.Clean and comfortable room.A good location a few minutes walk from Lynton's restaurants.

Personal, Warm Welcome
Had a truly lovely weekend at Longmead House. Lauren and Henry could not have done more for us during our stay. The room was exactly what we were hoping for. In particular the bedding and bed was amazing, wifi excellent, cleanilness faultless and breakfast delicious!

Fantastic Place, Luxury and Homely
Lovely warm welcome from Lauren & Henry, luxury, comfort and a homely feel, plus great lounge with well-stocked bar and woodburner. Had a single room, very cosy and clean at a very reasonable rate, stayed for 3 nights whilst exploring the coast, SW coast path and loads of NT places to visit in the area, just minutes from the Valley of the Rocks complete with wild goats (in the valley not in the B&B). Great places to eat and drink nearby. Cooked breakfasts totally rocked and of course came with black pudding, will be going back for my Autumn coast walking break.

Arriving after a long drive, it was so good to receive a friendly welcome. I am a single traveller and it was so refreshing to feel so relaxed. The room was exactly what I needed with such a comfortable bed, everything I needed for a short stay and so clean. Breakfast had so much to offer and the home made bread, marmalade and jam were so delicious. Perfect to set me up for a day out. Lauren went over the local area for me with places to eat and to visit. I will certainly go back as it is an ideal place to stay to explore the local area. A huge thank you to Lauren and Henry.

“Wow - a fabulous b & b!”
Incredible bed and breakfast accommodation with wonderful hosts, Lauren and Henry. We were greeted with hot drinks and flapjack, given a brief outline of the accommodation, surrounding area, walks etc. and then shown to our rooms which were all beautifully presented with lots of little extras. Henry's breakfasts were delicious - full English and eggs benedict cooked to perfection. Lauren and Henry really strive 100% to make your stay with them perfect.

Fantastic stay, amazing hosts
We have just returned from a weekend with Lauren and Henry and have had a fantastic stay. As hosts they were spot on. I have Coeliac Disease and they were able to fully accommodate gluten free sausages and bread for breakfast. Lauren was also able to advise on local eateries where we could find gluten free food.The room was spotless and has everything you would hope to find. The bed was big and comfy with lovely crisp linen.It's hard to believe that Lauren and Henry have only been at Longmead House for a year. The professionalism they show cannot be surpassed. I would recommend Longmead House to anyone visiting North Devon. It is just on the edge of where the Valley of The Rocks meets the town so is perfectly situated for walks and visits to the various shops and restaurants etc. on offer. "

Third visit to Longmead House
This was our third visit to Longmead House. Once again we enjoyed our stay. Henry & Lauren made us very welcome. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable. Henry's breakfast was great. All produce locally sourced. Longmead House is a great base for exploring. There are great walks wonderful scenery and lots of places to eat. Exceptionally good stay
We stay in B&Bs about 5-6 times a year, and always receive a warm welcome and have a pleasant stay.But Longmead exceeded this standard with an exceptionally friendly welcome, a very comfortable room, quiet location and fantastic food.Many B&Bs boast a "great full English breakfast" but Alan's was the best by far!I cant recommend Longmead enough.

We would highly recommed Longmead House, we had a wonderful stay at Longmead, and Caroline and Alan were very friendly, and offered a very good service, we were made to feel welcomed right from the start of our holiday and uptil the day we left to come home. The breakfast were excellent, and there was a good selection to choose from. We also had one of there evening meals, and it was one of the best roast dinners I have had in a long time well done Alan. I would recommend Longmead to our family and friends and we do hope to be able to return in the near future.Yvonne

We arent used to B&B type accommodation but this appeared to be the best option in this area.Longmead house was well located and we had a very warm and friendly welcome.Our room was clean, well equipped and the bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic and deserves 5 stars, great place to stay.
